ITINERARY

Nyingchi to Lhasa, Tibet | 5 resorts

Travel Period: From now till 31 December 2026

Discover the soul of eastern Tibet on a remarkable journey from Nyingchi to Bome via National Highway 318. Renowned for its awe-inspiring landscapes, this route carries you through majestic valleys, towering canyons, verdant forests, and vibrant farmlands. Feel the energy of a land steeped in history as golden temples glow in the sunlight, monks walk in quiet devotion, and glaciers sparkle against endless skies. This is more than a journey—it’s a pilgrimage to Lhasa, the holy city where cultures and beliefs unite in the sacred “place of gods.”

Songtsam Lodge Bome (2,700m) Tibet

Upon arrival at Nyingchi Mainling Airport, begin your journey with a scenic drive over the sacred Sejila Snow Mountain pass, where—weather permitting—you’ll catch a breathtaking view of Namcha Barwa, the highest peak in Nyingchi and one of the most majestic mountains in the world. Its towering triangular form, often wrapped in snow and mist, creates an unforgettable first impression of Tibet’s natural grandeur.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, continue your journey along the picturesque Palong Tsangpo River, winding through dense forests on a relaxing 4.5-hour drive toward Bome. Upon arrival, check into Songtsam Lodge Bome, where you’ll be welcomed with refreshing drinks and local snacks. End the day with a delightful welcome dinner at the lodge, surrounded by the serene beauty of eastern Tibet.

Songtsam Lodge Laigu (4,200m) Tibet

After breakfast, take a short 15-minute drive to Gang Village, where you’ll begin a refreshing hike into an ancient spruce forest, surrounded by pristine nature and tranquil scenery. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the village (seasonal note: from November until the day before the Peach Blossom Festival, picnics are replaced with boxed or hotel lunches).

In the afternoon, continue your journey with a scenic four-hour drive to Ranwu, following the beautiful Palongzangpo River as it winds through dramatic landscapes. Upon arrival, check into Songtsam Lodge Laigu, where you can relax, acclimatize to the altitude, and take in the breathtaking views of the Laigu Glacier. End the day with a warm and satisfying dinner at the lodge, immersed in the serenity of Tibet’s highland beauty.

Songtsam Lodge Laigu (4,200m) Tibet

Begin your day with a breathtaking sunrise from the lodge’s terrace (weather permitting), where the first light reveals the stunning beauty of the surrounding peaks. After breakfast, set out for Duosong Tso, a hidden and sacred lake untouched by crowds, where pristine forests, crystal-clear blue waters, and snow-capped mountains create a truly serene and unforgettable landscape.

Return to Songtsam Lodge Laigu for lunch before heading out in the afternoon to visit the historic Xiudeng pilgrimage temple, a 500-year-old monastery located just a 20-minute drive away, once home to five living Buddhas during its most prosperous era. Conclude the day with a peaceful dinner back at the lodge, immersed in the quiet majesty of Tibet’s highlands.

Songtsam Lodge Bome (2,700m) Tibet

After breakfast, set out on a scenic one-hour drive to the mirror-like Rawu Lake, beautifully framed by snow-capped mountains. Renowned for its tranquil, ever-changing waters, the lake shifts in color from deep blue to vivid turquoise with the seasons, creating a mesmerizing natural spectacle. Continue your journey along the Palong Tsangpo River, winding through dense forests on a relaxing three-hour drive toward Nyingchi, with a stop for lunch at Songtsam Lodge Bome.

In the afternoon, unwind with a traditional Tibetan medicinal foot bath in the comfort of your room—an experience designed to boost circulation, enhance oxygen flow, and ease the effects of high altitude while soothing tired muscles and restoring balance to both body and mind. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner at Songtsam Lodge Bome, surrounded by the calm beauty of eastern Tibet.

Songtsam Glamping Palpa (3,200m) Tibet

After breakfast, depart for Lulang, passing through its vast, enchanting forests where snow-capped mountains rise above open meadows dotted with grazing cattle and sheep. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and savor the famous Lulang Stone Pot Chicken, a signature dish rich in regional flavor.

In the afternoon, visit the charming Zhaxigang Village before continuing on a scenic 4.5-hour drive to Palpa. Upon arrival, check into Songtsam Camping Palpa and enjoy a delightful dinner in this tranquil setting. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll around the camp—on clear nights, the sky above reveals a breathtaking canopy of stars, offering a peaceful and unforgettable end to the day.

Songtsam Linka Basomtso (3,400m) Tibet

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning with a range of optional activities based on your personal interests, such as Via Ferrata, rock climbing, ziplining, or horse riding. Alternatively, you may choose to stroll through the forest or visit the nearby Baiba Village for a more relaxed experience. (Please note that these activities are not included in the tour package and will incur additional charges.)

After lunch at Songtsam Camping Palpa, continue your journey in the afternoon to Basomtso and check in at Songtsam Linka Basomtso. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace—indulge in a peaceful afternoon tea while taking in the breathtaking views of the tranquil lake and the gently rolling snow-capped mountains.
